It converts your website into a powerful channel, able to attract more guests, keeping them, and then convert them to become your customers. While pictures can be doctored and deceptive, genuine companies providing photo galleries should make sure that what the consumer sees is what the customer will get when they buy your products or services. That’s because photos work as a double-edged sword, you will lose people’s trust instead of gaining it if you disappoint them. ## Now that we know how important a Website Image Gallery is, let’s see how we can improve it:   Whenever we think of how to “optimize” our Website images gallery, we should first think of the following: - How to make images look good in our gallery. - How to make images load quickly. - and how to make images easy for search engines to index. We’ll cover how you can optimize images using free, easy-to-use tools (No Photoshop Skill Required).   ## 1) High-Quality Images Have an Image Stock: You don’t have to be a professional photographer or even hire one, to use great images on your website. You can use the following options to get high-quality and copyrighted images. There are hundreds of stock photo sites where you can download photos, some are Free and some are Paid and here are our favorites: - [123RF](https://www.123rf.com/) - Need to pay and subscribe to one of their plans. - [PixaBay](https://pixabay.com/en/) - Free. - [Unsplash](https://unsplash.com/) - Free.   It will possibly be a really **Big** JPEG file when you download an image from one of those websites. You’ll need to reduce the size and upload a smaller version to compress it for your website. Though it’s recommended to start with large size since you can always adjust the size according to your need, as it doesn’t work vise versa.   For better presentation, take your photos: ![64761990\_s](https://page.mysoftinn.com/hs-fs/hubfs/64761990_s.jpg?width=848&name=64761990_s.jpg)   while stock images are useful and efficient, there are still a few things we can’t use them for. Stock pictures can not represent everything (such as your team either your product). Mobile phones can easily replace fancy camera equipment nowadays. Few pictures can do the job, like some photos of your hotel rooms, amenities, and team with an enthusiastic Smile painted on their faces.   Graphics: ![Untitled design-8](https://page.mysoftinn.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design-8.png?width=854&name=Untitled%20design-8.png)  For more graphic-based content, you can use a ton of new, free online resources to create your infographics, posters, presentations, or images. Our most favorite is [Canva](https://www.canva.com/).    ## 2) Use the Right File Type ## ![Untitled design-10](https://page.mysoftinn.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Untitled%20design-10.png?width=853&name=Untitled%20design-10.png) There are a lot of different image files like JPG, PNG, GIF, and SVG, that can easily make a person confused about what format I should use, like JPG, PNG, GIF, and SVG. The key concept for this is on a Website gallery you will most probably need JPEG (JPG) or a PNG format.    ***Save and Upload Photographs as JPGs:*** JPG format handles photographs with all its colors in a relatively small, efficient file size. Unlike PNGs, you will end up with a small-sized file when you save a photo as JPG. ***Graphics should be saved as PNGs:*** PNGs are higher quality than JPEGs, and it deals with areas of color and text with nice crisp lines, so you can zoom in and not lose any quality. But it typically comes with larger file size. When we say Graphics it includes most of the designs, logos, posters, infographics, and images with lots of text in them. ## 3\. Image Size, Page speed, and Appearance The higher your resolution, the larger the file size will be: large size, high-resolution images can slow down your website’s page speed. It disturbs the experience of your customers, and potentially your ranking of search engines. ***Minimize Image Sizes:*** The faster you load your page, the better your performance and the better your website will rank. Scale them up to the size you want them to be viewed to ensure your images load quickly. For example, using an image of 2500 x 1500 pixels and showing it at 250 x 150 pixels is not a good idea at all.    ## Conclusion Apart from the obvious attraction of a photo gallery to draw visual attention from a customer providing a photo gallery on the website of your company is the best first step towards gaining new customers simply by “converting Lookers into Bookers”. When it comes to explaining to customers that you are delivering a better product or service, it’s always more useful to demonstrate them through a photo gallery than just saying words. There are a lot of steps out there that will help you optimize your website gallery and those mentioned above are the starts and this will get easier once you’re used to the concept.   Additionally, going through this process will make your images look better, help you load your website faster, and ultimately benefit your SEO. Get into the right picture patterns now and you’ll be enjoying the benefits on your website.
