What is an e-invoice?

 An e-invoice is a digital invoice generated and stored electronically in compliance with Malaysia’s Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) regulations.

Why is e-invoicing required?

E-invoicing ensures tax compliance, improves transparency, and reduces paperwork, making financial processes more efficient.

How will I receive my e-invoice?

Softinn’s Hotels Subscribers and business partners will receive e-invoices via email or through their MyInvois account portal. Guests making direct bookings will receive an e-receipt, with an e-invoice available upon request.

Do guests need an e-invoice for their room bookings?

Generally, guests receive an e-receipt for their transactions. However, if required, an e-invoice can be requested for tax or business expense purposes.

What should I do, as the hotel, if I found out that an e-invoice that I issued contains some errors?

The Supplier can cancel an erroneous e-invoice within 72 hours from the time of validation. Upon cancellation, a notification is dispatched to the Buyer. The Supplier must then issue a new e-invoice, adhering to the standard process.

What is a consolidated e-invoice?

A consolidated e-invoice is a summary invoice issued at the end of each month for transactions where an individual e-invoice request was not requested by the customer within the allowed timeframe.

Can I request an e-invoice for past transactions?

E-invoices can only be requested for completed transactions within the same calendar month. Requests for past months will not be entertained.
