A hotel’s housekeeping department provides a clean, comfortable, and restful stay for all guests. Although housekeepers are invisible to most guests, it’s the housekeeping department to ensure the hotel maintains high standards in cleanliness and puts forth a positive public image. As a housekeeping manager, your main role is to ensure cleanliness in the hotel. You are expected to manage the housekeeping staff and assign them duties. If any guest complains about the uncleanliness of their room, the general manager will hold you responsible. With the help of a good hotel PMS, the housekeeping role has become easier to manage. Almost every hotel has a front desk office. The front desk staff is the first people that the hotel guests meet when they arrive at the hotel. As the front desk manager, your job is to manage the front desk staff and assign them duties and their work schedule. In most cases, your hotel guests' reviews will depend on the quality of service from your front desk staff offered to the guests when they arrived. When there is an issue with a guest at the front desk, the manager usually comes in to save the day.

To get this position, you need to have a few years of experience in the hospitality industry or the food and beverage industry. The manager is responsible for the food and drinks sold in the hotel. The hotel PMS also helps the manager to manage this department. The chefs, the staff in the bar, and the restaurants are all under this department.
